Undo an import

Every import can be undone from Settings, Import data. Undo removes only what that import created and keeps anything you have edited since.

How to undo

  1. 1Open Settings, then Import data.
  2. 2Under Past imports, find the import and choose Report and undo.
  3. 3At the bottom of the report, open Undo this import.
  4. 4Read what it says, then choose Undo this import and confirm.

Only owners and managers can see Import data, so only they can undo an import.

What undo removes

Undo removes only what that import created: the customers, vehicles, repair orders or parts it added. It does not touch anything that was already in your shop.

Anything you have edited since the import is kept. So is any customer or vehicle that now has other records attached, like a new repair order you wrote after the import.

When it finishes, the screen lists what was removed and what was kept, and why.

After an undo

  • The uploaded file is already deleted. To bring the data back, upload the file again.
  • The import stays listed under Past imports, marked Undone.
  • Imports never sent a text or an email, so undoing one sends nothing either.
If something looks wrong after an undo, email support@gearboxly.com and tell us which import it was.

If the matching was wrong

Uploading the same file again does not import anything twice, because each row is remembered. So if you matched the wrong columns, undo the import first, then start a new one with the right matching.
