Shop management software built inside a real repair shop

The problem

Gearboxly started at Auto Star, an independent auto repair shop. Like most shops, the day was eaten by work that wasn’t fixing cars: looking up labor times, retyping a tech’s notes into an estimate, chasing approvals by phone and remembering which declined jobs to follow up on. The software stored all of it, but it didn’t help do any of it.

Building Gearboxly

So we built the system we wanted at our own counter. Labor times that show up as you type the job. Inspections that turn into estimates without retyping. Estimates customers approve from their phone. A dashboard that says what needs a person right now. And an AI that does the lookups and the typing, while people make every decision.

Used every day

Auto Star still runs on Gearboxly every day, at the counter, in the bays and on phones, with more than 1,500 repair orders written in it. Every feature, like checking cars in from the lot, gets used on real cars before it reaches you.

Open to every independent shop

Gearboxly opens to every independent repair shop on October 16, 2026. Plans start at $99 per location per month with unlimited users, and every shop can try the AI plan free for 14 days with no card.
