Shop capacity calculator
See how many billable hours your shop can produce in a month from technicians, hours worked and efficiency, and what that's worth at your labor rate.

How it works
Capacity is the ceiling on what the shop can bill. It comes from how many techs you have, how many hours they're on the clock and how productive those hours are.
Comparing capacity to the hours you actually billed shows whether you need more cars, a better schedule or another tech.
Example: 4 techs × 40 hours × 4.3 weeks × 85% productivity = 584.8 billable hours a month. At $150 an hour that's $87,720 of labor capacity.
Track this every month without a spreadsheet: Technician workspace and time clock.
Questions shops ask
What productivity should I use?
Productivity is billed hours divided by hours on the clock. If you don't know yours, track a few weeks of timesheets against billed hours.
Why 4.3 weeks?
A month averages about 4.33 weeks. Use your own number of working weeks if you close for holidays.
How does this help scheduling?
If booked hours regularly beat capacity, cars wait. If they fall well short, you have room for more appointments or marketing.
