Two-way texting for auto repair shops

Updated

Estimates, reminders, “your car is ready” and payment links all go out as texts from your shop's own number. When a customer replies to any of them, the reply lands in one shared inbox the whole counter can answer, not on someone's personal phone.

Estimates go out by text, and customers approve on their phone.

What it does

  • Texts from your shop's own number
  • One inbox, newest first, with unread replies counted
  • Open a thread and jump to the customer's cars, visits and invoices
  • Estimates, reminders, ready notices and pay links by text
  • STOP unsubscribes straight away; START opts back in
  • 1,000 text segments per location a month included (3,000 on Growth)

Questions shops ask

Why does texting need approval?

US carriers require every business that texts customers to be registered first (A2P 10DLC). You fill in your business details in Gearboxly and we submit them. Carrier approval can take a few days to a few weeks.

How many texts are included?

1,000 text segments per location a month (3,000 on Growth), pooled across your locations. A segment is one 160-character text.

What happens if a customer replies STOP?

They're unsubscribed straight away and won't get more texts. If they reply START, they're back on.
