How to request deletion
Staff (service writers, technicians, managers): ask your shop owner to remove you under Settings → Staff, or email us using the steps below. Removing a staff account deletes your sign-in, your notification settings and your phone’s notification token.
Shop owners (the whole shop): cancel your plan in Billing on app.gearboxly.com, then email us to delete the shop’s account and data.
To ask us directly:
- Email support@gearboxly.com with the subject “Delete my Gearboxly account”.
- Send it from the email address you sign in with, and include your shop’s name.
- We confirm it’s you, then delete the account within 30 days and email you when it’s done.
What we delete
For a staff account: your name, email, phone number, password, role, sign-in history, notification choices and device notification tokens.
For a whole shop: the shop’s customers, vehicles, repair orders, estimates, inspections and photos, text and email messages, appointments, staff accounts and settings.
What we keep, and for how long
Work a staff member did on a repair order (for example, “inspected by”) stays on the shop’s records, because those records belong to the shop.
When a whole shop is deleted, we keep billing records and invoices for up to 7 years where tax law requires it. Text messaging opt-outs are kept permanently, so a person who asked to stop is never texted again.
Deleting some data only
You can ask us to delete specific data, such as photos or messages, without closing your account. Email support@gearboxly.com and tell us what you want removed.
