What the AI does
Gearboxly AI suggests labor times, specifications and fluid capacities, likely causes for a complaint, estimate drafts, inspection write-ups and messages to customers. It works from what you type, your shop’s own records, and general automotive knowledge.
It can be wrong
AI output can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, including torque specs, capacities and labor times. Always check it against manufacturer service information and your own judgment before you rely on it, quote it or do the work. You decide what is quoted and what work is done.
Nothing goes out without you
Gearboxly AI drafts. A person on your team reviews and approves anything before it is sent to a customer, added to an invoice, or saved as a finding.
Safety
Do not use AI suggestions as the only basis for safety-critical work such as brakes, steering, suspension, airbags or fuel systems. Follow the manufacturer’s procedures.
Your data and the AI
To answer a request, the text you enter and the shop records needed for it are sent to our AI provider (Google). It processes them to return an answer. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
See our subprocessors and privacy policy.
Usage limits
AI use comes from a monthly allowance shared by your shop, with a daily limit during the free trial. See section 7 of our Terms for fair use.
