Free Darts Scorer
501/301 scoring with checkout hints.
What is the Darts Scorer?
A game of 501 is only fun if the maths doesn't slow it down — and subtracting three-dart scores from a running total, over and over, while spotting when someone can check out, is exactly the sort of thing a screen should do. This darts scorer counts down for every player, handles busts, tracks averages and even suggests checkouts.
It runs entirely in your browser, so it's ready on the phone by the board.

What does this tool do?
Pick 301, 501 or 701 and up to four players, then enter each player's three-dart total after every visit. The scorer subtracts it, rotates to the next player, and tracks three-dart averages. If a score would drop a player below zero or leave exactly one, it busts and the score stays put. When a player is on a finishable number, a suggested checkout appears.
The first player to reach exactly zero wins.

Tips
- Enter the three-dart total for each visit, not individual darts — it's faster and matches how you'd call it.
- Use the checkout suggestion as a guide; there's often more than one valid finish.
- Remember you must finish on a double — a bust leaves your score unchanged for that visit.
- Watch your three-dart average to see whether you're improving across games.
- Reset before a new match so previous scores don't carry over.
Common mistakes to avoid
Entering single darts
Fix: Enter the whole three-dart visit total (0–180) each turn.
Forgetting the double-out rule
Fix: You must finish on a double; leaving 1 busts because 1 can't be checked out.
Ignoring a bust
Fix: On a bust the score stays where it started the visit — that's correct, not a glitch.
Not resetting
Fix: Start a fresh game from reset so old scores don't linger.
